Locspiration The Natural Hair Salon & Spa was founded by Lauren Francis-Jackson as the DMV’s premier Loc salon & nail spa, education, and product creation establishment. We love the cultivation, maintaining, and styling of locs. We take pride in offering you the best in loc’d hair care in an intimate one-on-one environment…meaning your appointment time is exclusively reserved for you- Our Loc SuperStar.
Our team of trained and professional stylists have been trained in Loc theory, Loc Creation, Loc Maintenance & Repair, Loc Color, and Loc Styling. We are dedicated to innovation and artistry in the natural hair industry. We customize all services to meet the unique needs of your hair. We specialize in servicing locs of all textures.
In addition to locs, our spa specialty is nails. We specialize in nail artistry in nail care and art for natural nails and nail enhancements. Before the nail art, we believe that nail care is the most important service that we can provide. Healthy nails are our #1 priority as the foundation of beautiful nail artistry.
Lauren has been a presenter at some of the DMV’s most popular natural hair shows including The Naturalista Hair Show and DC Love Locs Expo. Her work has also been featured in Sophisticate’s Black Hair.

One day I woke up and didn’t want to wear wigs anymore and didn’t have the confidence to wear my natural hair without it being processed or having extensions added. MEET OWNER, LAUREN FRANCIS JACKSON
Lauren Francis-Jackson, the owner of Locspiration The Natural Hair Salon & Spa, developed her passion for Loc’d Hair Care & Education by embarking on her own natural hair journey. Initially as a Natural Hair Blogger, she discovered her passion and purpose: Locs! Sisterlocks Blogger turned Professional Stylist, Lauren began her education at the Natural Hair Nstitute as a certified Loc Stylist. The same year she also attended the Sisterlocks Consultant 4-day Training in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Natural Hair Nstitute, a natural hair care school in Silver Spring, Maryland through N Natural Hair Studio, is where Lauren learned the basics in starting, maintaining, and styling of locs. Additionally, Lauren completed Sisterlock training in 2014 and currently is a Certified Sisterlocks Consultant. More recently in 2021, Lauren began Cosmetology School at Aveda Institute where she gained a broader foundation in cutting, coloring, and styling of hair as well as skin care, makeup, and nail artistry. She graduated in July 2022, and became a licensed cosmetologist in August 2022. After graduating cosmetology school, Lauren’s interest in nail care and artistry began to grow and blossom. We will begin offering nail services in Fall/Winter 2023.
