One of the hottest beauty trends in the last few years is eyelash extensions. Whether you have seen them, heard about them, or just curious about them- this is the place to be to learn about this beauty craze!
Eyelash Extensions are not anything new! Many celebrities in the 70s and 80s wore them on TV to enhance the appearance of their lashes. Of course the lash industry has significantly changed since then. Now, celebrities and the everyday woman wear lashes to enhance their appearance.
Eyelash extensions are a semi permanent beauty enhancement where individual lashes are attached to the client’s natural lashes. Many different fibers make up eyelash extensions including synthetic, silk, and mink. Synthetic lashes are usually sold in the beauty supply store in clusters or individual lashes. Synthetic lashes are heavy so they tend to weigh down the client’s natural lashes and cause more damage (e.g., loss of client’s natural lash) when they are being removed. Silk lashes are typically found online on sites like Amazon or sold through wholesale suppliers. Silk lashes are great for clients that are more mature in age or have very fine lashes. They are lightweight and able to be worn easily for those with fine lashes. Mink lashes are the most popular lashes for eyelash extensions. They can be purchased online on Amazon and other websites or through wholesale sellers. Mink lashes are lightweight and when removed properly they are not damaging to the client’s natural lash. In addition, eyelash extensions do come in vegan fibers as well.
When deciding to try out lash extensions, a professional lash artist should do a thorough consultation including a detailed intake about your beauty routine and eye health, what your expectations are for your lash service, and desired look of lashes. Different lash styles will result in different looks. Classic sets look more natural whereas volume sets give all the drama and glam that celebrities rock daily. Currently we only offer classic sets for eyelash extensions.
For installment of eyelash extensions, be prepared to be here for awhile. Even for an experienced lash artist, full sets tend to take at least 2 hours. The great thing is that you can lay back on the comfort of the lash table. Free naps with all lash service is a real thing!
In terms of maintenance, it is recommended that you not get your extensions wet for 48 hours following the service to allow the adhesive to set. You should also brush your lashes daily and use lash bath to keep them clean. Maintenance and fills are usually recommended every 2-3 weeks.
